Overview

My public sector client is looking for a Business Support Officer to provide support within their Legal Services Directorate, where the successful candidate will play an integral part in assisting the organisation's directorate (including Director and Assistant Directors) to manage their time and work effectively, so that they can focus on their priorities.

This is a potential 6-month temporary assignment, Monday to Friday, paying £12.62 per hour, full time (37 hours a week), with working hours from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The role will be hybrid, with three days on-site and two days working from home.

Responsibilities

  • Diary management for the Senior Management Team's appointments, sending meeting invites, and managing responses.
  • Producing briefing notes and drafting presentations for use in senior leader meetings.
  • Providing ad-hoc administrative support, including coordination of meetings and taking minutes.
  • Arranging travel and accommodation for the SMT and their team as required.
  • Making appropriate arrangements for office attendance, including desk and room bookings.
  • Forming effective working relationships with administrative teams and ensuring communication with the Director.
  • Collaborating with the Business Support Team and supporting wider functions.
  • Analysing and updating Management Information while supporting the team for missing data.

Requirements

Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, and the ability to work across teams are essential. Candidates should possess strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks under tight deadlines. A willingness to adapt to change and promote continuous improvement is crucial.

A confident, self-motivated approach with proven experience in administration is required. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to remain calm under pressure while managing sensitive matters on behalf of Assistant Directors. Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality performance are key.

Willingness to travel between London, Birmingham, and Manchester offices as needed is also important.

This role will require a DBS check and three years of referencing.
