Overview

Tower Hamlets Behaviour and Attendance Support Service (BASS) is seeking an experienced and confident SENCO, Inclusion Lead, or Assistant Headteacher to join an established management team within the Behaviour Support Team. This role involves close collaboration with senior leaders in schools and teams in Children’s Services to develop inclusive approaches for children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, enabling them to thrive in school and their communities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Behaviour Improvement Team, managing work with pupils from vulnerable groups.
  • Develop multi-agency support for both whole schools and individual students.
  • Implement effective school improvement strategies to promote positive behaviour management.
  • Reduce the risk of suspension for children exhibiting challenging behaviours.
  • Coordinate and enhance the central training offer for staff.
  • Develop the team’s capacity to raise standards and prevent exclusions.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from £66,959 to £71,240, depending on experience.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience in an educational setting.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing teams in a school or educational context.
  • Strong understanding of the needs of children with SEND and SEMH.
  • Exceptional communication skills, particularly in engaging with families.
