Class 1 HGV Driver - Dayshift

Overview

Location: Wincanton for ASDA, 1 Redlands Crescent, Larne Harbour, Larne, BT40 1AX (Deliveries within Northern Ireland).

Reporting to: Transport Department Manager

Shift Pattern: Working any 5 days out of 7 each week, scheduled to approximately 9.6 hours per day (48hrs per week), commencing anytime between 6am and 10am.

A unique opportunity has arisen for experienced Class 1 HGV Drivers to join Wincanton's successful team and support Wincanton's business delivering goods throughout Northern Ireland to ASDA stores.

Responsibilities:

• Deliveries to ASDA stores as ambassadors of Wincanton.
• Organisation and accurate completion of paperwork for each delivery consignment.
• Manual unloading as required.
• Regular communication with Larne depot if any issues arise during shifts.
• Safe and efficient handling of the vehicle, including optimizing fuel usage and maintaining cleanliness.
• Pre-shift vehicle checks and reporting maintenance issues.
• Compliance with all legislation and procedures related to LGV driving.
• Conducting oneself in a safe manner and reporting any health and safety risks.
• Undertaking any necessary training as required by the operation.
• Performing additional duties as needed for effective operation.

What You Need:

• Full HGV Class C&E (Class 1) Licence.
• A minimum of 12 months LGV driving and delivery experience, with no more than 3 penalty points.
• Possession of a Digital Tachograph card.
• Full DCPC (35 hours) certification.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Flexibility and excellent dexterity.
