Chubb is currently recruiting for an Assistant Underwriter. This key role supports the Casualty Practice in line with Chubb's ambitious growth plans in the UK and Mid-Market. The role involves assisting in the underwriting of new and renewal Primary and Excess Casualty business consisting of UK and Multinational accounts.

You will support the London Corporate Casualty team in delivering a high-quality service to Chubb's underwriters and brokers while developing technical and broader business skills in the Insurance Industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the underwriting and processing of new and renewable Casualty business in line with Chubb's underwriting appetite, authority limits, and business plan.
  • Work in conjunction with the team to ensure efficient working practices are adhered to as per established package underwriting guidelines.
  • Support the underwriting team through liaison and participation in meetings with brokers and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide assistance to UKI Management for building, running, and monitoring exposure reports.
  • Meet company standards in respect of policy documentation, timeframe for quoting new and renewal business, and compliance issues.
  • Work within the framework of the Chubb Code of Conduct, Compliance policies, and protocols established by the Company.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Experience in the insurance market is required.
  • Demonstrate a practical approach to problem-solving, often against tight timeframes.
  • Interest in Multinational programs.
  • Minimum A level standard.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office.
  • Expected to undertake “on the job” training, which may involve working in other Chubb offices.
