About The Role

The Grange - Non Profit Organisation is seeking a passionate and patient individual to teach basic cooking and baking skills to small groups of adults with learning disabilities, typically no more than four at a time. This position is part of a dedicated team of Catering Tutors, facilitating sessions in The Grange - Non Profit Organisation's onsite café and teaching kitchens while also managing bespoke cake orders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other tutors to deliver outcomes.
  • Provide cover for tutors as necessary.

Research & Planning

  • Plan and adapt skills sessions to meet the needs of participants using a person-centred approach.
  • Support participation in catering, enterprise, and retail environments.
  • Ensure sustainable practices in all sessions.
  • Source materials and manage stock for retail opportunities.
  • Maintain health and safety standards, including risk assessments.
  • Research potential new projects to enhance The Grange - Non Profit Organisation's offerings.

Session Delivery

  • Facilitate learning about catering in small groups.
  • Support skill development, self-esteem, and employability for people with disabilities.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications: Competency in catering, GCSE in English and Maths.

Desirable Experience: Working in a supported environment, experience with disabilities, and a teaching qualification.
