The Role

Are you a fully qualified accounting technician or a part-qualified accountant studying towards full qualification with some experience? If so, Bolton Council want to hear from you.

The post supports a wide and varied portfolio within Bolton Council’s Corporate and Place Directorates. You will be helping the Council tackle complex and diverse challenges by providing strategic finance support and insights necessary to optimize budgets and resources for the benefit of Bolton Council's residents.

About You

Bolton Council is looking for a forward-thinking Principal Accountant to join Bolton Council's team. The ideal candidate will:

• Have a proven track record of finding practical solutions.
• Be resourceful, determined, and able to adapt quickly.
• Communicate effectively with a variety of people and work well in a team.
• Be proactive and driven, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Have experience in a similar role, ideally within a Local Authority, or bring relevant experience that will add value to Bolton Council's team.
• Be highly skilled in Excel.
