University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking 4 outstanding clinicians to complement the current respiratory service at QEH UHBFT, which comprises over 20 consultant respiratory physicians and consultant clinical scientists across several sub-specialty teams. The service offers strong MDT bases providing regional services in:
- Cystic fibrosis
- Interstitial and occupational lung disease
- Lung transplantation
- Severe asthma
- Pulmonary tuberculosis
- Sleep and ventilation
Supported by respiratory nurse specialists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, and psychologists, the Trust provides comprehensive lung cancer services in collaboration with one of the largest thoracic surgery units in the country.
The new posts are designed to enhance respiratory in and out-patient services, particularly for candidates interested in Pulmonary Infection, Asthma, Sleep, Pleural diseases, and Interstitial Lung Disease.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include enhancing the quality of care within the respiratory department and participating in MDT meetings, alongside providing clinical leadership and supervision.

Qualifications
Essential
- Entry on GMC Specialist Register; eligible for entry or within six months of receiving Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at time of interview
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development including CME
