Cleaner - Immediate Start, Part-Time

Overview

The Service & Team: Penmount Crematorium in Truro undertakes approximately 1500 cremations per year and seeks a dedicated Cleaner to join Cornwall Council's close-knit and efficient team.

The Role: This role involves daily cleaning duties across the offices, toilets, and public areas, scheduled early mornings or late evenings to accommodate the crematorium's operations. You will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the main crematorium building and the two on-site admin buildings.

Working Pattern: A flexible working arrangement is crucial, with the Cleaner establishing a daily schedule to ensure all areas are cleaned to a high standard. Responsibilities include key holding and security alarm management, necessitating occasional lone working.

The position requires the completion of mandatory e-learning and cleaning qualifications.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

• Basic IT skills
• Knowledge and experience of cleaning procedures
• Understanding of Council policies relating to Safeguarding (desirable)
• Flexible approach to fit within daily schedules
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and attention to detail
• Previous experience in a sensitive public environment (desirable)
• Knowledge of COSHH regulations (desirable)
