Chef Manager
1 x 30 Hours per week Based at Low Moor Primary
Band 4 SCP 3-4 £11.79 – £11.98 per hour
An opportunity has arisen within Catering and Cleaning Services for a Chef Manager to join the team at the above site. Your main responsibility will be to lead a team in providing a complete catering operation within an agreed budget.
The role will also include:
- Management of staff
- Liaising with representatives
- Promotion of the services that FM Catering and Office Services offer
- Maximising sales and achieving customer satisfaction
- Performing varied hands-on kitchen duties

Chef Managers must hold the following:
- NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation (Essential) or equivalent i.e. City & Guilds 706/1 & 2
- NVQ Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate (Essential)
All appointments are subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check.
From October 2016, Central Government will be introducing a new Code of Practice as part of the Government Immigration Bill, which specifies that all public sector workers in a “customer facing” role will have the necessary level of fluency in English appropriate for the role they will be undertaking.
This includes social workers, teaching staff and assistants, and council employees. This will require that a person working in a “Customer Facing” role can speak, listen, and understand Basic English as a minimum.
