The Market Surveillance Business Intelligence (MS BI) team operates at the intersection of technology, analytics, and financial markets. They lead initiatives in Management Information (MI), reporting, and dashboard development. As a collaborative unit, MS BI navigate complex datasets and contribute to banking compliance efforts.
Barclays's team's expertise extends to utilizing tools such as MS Office, TABLEAU, and SQL for strategic data insights. With a foundation in analytics, a deep understanding of financial market products, and prior experience in compliance, the MS BI team plays a pivotal role in shaping data-driven strategies for the organisation.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the creation of dynamic Tableau dashboards to support the analysis of critical surveillance data.
- Support the Surveillance Advisory and Optimization team with scenario analysis, validation, and calibration.
- Develop and maintain new data sources in line with Firm-wide Data Management Standards using coding platforms such as SQL and Python.
Purpose of the role: To design, develop, implement, and maintain various statistical, mathematical and machine learning models to support decision-making by analysis and solving complex problems.
Accountabilities:
- Acquisition and collection of data from various sources, including internal databases, external datasets, and real-time feeds.
- Performing data cleaning and pre-processing tasks to ensure data quality and suitability for model development.
- Design and implementation of data management strategies for model maintenance and future development.
- Designing, development, and implementation of statistical and machine learning models for various applications, including credit risk assessment, fraud detection, customer segmentation, and marketing optimisation.
- Monitoring model performance in real-time and identify any potential issues or biases.
Vice President Expectations:
- Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management on functional and cross-functional areas of impact and alignment.
