Overview

About the role:

West Suffolk Council is currently seeking a CCTV Operator to work in West Suffolk Council's control room in Bury St Edmunds. The operator will manage over 700 CCTV cameras across various local towns, including alarms and the council's out-of-hours service. The role involves providing both reactive and proactive CCTV monitoring services to assist in reducing crime and disorder. You will be responsible for operating the equipment and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, the CCTV code of practice, and operational control room procedures.

What you will need:

The successful candidate ideally should hold a CCTV SIA license and have experience working in a busy control room; however, full training will be provided. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as the ability to work as part of a team on a rolling four on, four off shift rota, which includes days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays. This position requires Police Vetting.
