Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Clinical Psychologist within Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust to join an expanding multidisciplinary team meeting the needs of Children and Young People (age up to 18) in Warrington.

No Wrong Door Initiative

The ‘No Wrong Door’ programme is a nationally recognized initiative working with complex adolescents who are within or on the edge of the care system. This model integrates residential care, foster care, speech and language support, mental health services, and the police into a single hub based in a residential home.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide psychological assessments of clients referred to CYPMHS.
  2. Consult with colleagues to support formulation and implementation of treatment plans.
  3. Implement interventions for individuals, carers, families, and groups.
  4. Contribute to a psychologically based framework of understanding and care.
  5. Manage risk assessments and participate in multi-agency risk assessments.
  6. Provide supervision for assistant clinical psychologists.
  7. Contribute to training for clinical and/or counselling psychology students.

Skills and Experience Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A background in psychology, particularly with children and young people.
  • Experience in therapeutic interventions and risk management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work flexibly and creatively.
