Customer Service Assistant

Posted:Wakefield Council have an opportunity for a highly motivated individual, with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service, to join Wakefield Council’s library service. This permanent position offers 21 hours per week, based at Horbury Library.
You will be responsible for providing a high standard of customer service that exceeds expectations and enhances Wakefield Council's library service profile by contributing to the delivery of a comprehensive events programme.
You will have:
- a positive and flexible approach
- excellent interpersonal skills
- previous experience in a customer-facing environment
- a good standard of ICT proficiency, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software programmes and web-based packages
- a calm approach when dealing with complex and stressful situations
- the ability to engage and interact appropriately with both adults and children
- the ability to plan and deliver educational and social events such as themed story times or themed adult activities
- the ability to encourage and motivate customers to participate in activities which enhance the customer experience.
