Civils Supervisor

Overview

OCU currently has an opportunity for an experienced Civils Supervisor to join OCU's operational team based out of Iver. The role is within OCU's Power division working on OCU's SSEN New Connections framework, covering multiple projects along the M4 corridor.

Responsibilities

• Taking ownership of the job from receipt to completion.
• Allocate and monitor work given to teams to ensure compliance, safety, and timely delivery.
• Ensure teams possess the correct competencies for their tasks.
• Brief teams on upcoming works prior to starting.
• Deliver toolbox talks to all staff and return completed sign-off sheets.
• Order, deliver, off-hire, and collect plant and materials for the site.
• Ensure correct PPE and equipment are available for teams to work safely.
• Manage traffic control and ensure proper NRSWA permits are in place.
• Start and close NRSWA permits as needed.
• Attend site meetings as required.
• Prepare job packs including utility stats and ensure they are up to date.
• Carry out any other duties appropriate for the role.

Skills & Experience

• Experience as a Civils Supervisor managing direct labour and subcontractor teams.
• Knowledge of Street Works, traffic management, and permitting requirements.
• Experience interacting with the public, customers, and clients.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong time management and organisational skills, capable of working to deadlines.
• Ability to prioritise workload and manage expectations effectively.
• Attention to detail is crucial.
• Experience working for a Distribution Network Operator or a subcontractor on the electrical distribution network.
• Familiarity with SSEN’s EO Web online mapping system is desirable.
