Children's Residential Shortbreaks Worker

Cherry Tree Lodge is a Children's Home that provides a range of Short Breaks including overnight care, day care, and holiday provisions. Occasionally, North Yorkshire Council offer residential care for looked-after children. The nature of the work varies, involving shifts across a 24/7 rota, including weekends and bank holidays. Staff are expected to work 26 weekends per year, with additional allowances paid for weekend, bank holiday, sleep-in, and night shifts.
Responsibilities
You will deliver high-quality care in accordance with children’s home regulations, supporting children with various complex health needs, learning disabilities, autism, and challenging behaviors. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing personalized care and support
- Engaging children in positive relationships
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of all children in care
Education and Qualifications
It is required by Ofsted that you hold or are willing to work towards an occupational qualification at level 3 (Diploma) in working with children. An Enhanced Level DBS Disclosure is also necessary for this role.
Skills and Experience
