South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated Physiotherapy Assistant to join the Physiotherapy Team on the Trauma and Orthopaedic Wards at The James Cook University Hospital. In this role, you will support Physiotherapists in delivering high-quality treatment and rehabilitation to patients within the hospital. Candidates should be friendly, helpful, and motivated, ideally with some experience working with the public. A keen interest in patient rehabilitation is essential, as ongoing professional development will be actively encouraged.
The successful candidate must pass a pre-employment medical assessment and provide disclosure details before starting work. Flexibility to work across both hospital sites may be required.
Main Duties of the Job
- Support Physiotherapists in delivering efficient and effective Physiotherapy services.
- Assist with skilled support work to facilitate patient rehabilitation on the Orthopaedic wards.
- Conduct treatments for delegated patients, including group work as per care plans or protocols.
- Perform administrative tasks and equipment maintenance as necessary.

Salary and Benefits

Qualifications and Training
Essential
- 3 A-levels or Health and Science T-level or equivalent Level 3 qualification(s) and Functional Skills (Level 2) OR as a Level 3 apprenticeship, such as the Senior Healthcare Support Worker apprenticeship.
- Completion of competency workbook equivalent to Level 3 in a range of patient and clinical care duties.
