Community Support Worker for young adult

Seeking an enthusiastic, fun, and inclusive Community Support Worker for a sporty, chatty, and very determined 18-year-old with a great sense of humour. This role supports an active person who has combined vision and auditory impairments. Auditory equipment is provided, and the young person is a cane user receiving mobility support.
This very active and energetic young person is passionate about football, loves to play many sports, and participates in various indoor and outdoor activities. The Community Support Worker role involves empowering this person to enhance their influence, access their community, and transition to adulthood by building confidence, social communication, and independence skills.
Responsibilities include:
- Sensitively facilitating social communication skills in peer groups and busy environments
- Accessing information on social media and the internet
- Building independence skills, such as cooking and using public transport
These skills will be developed during fun days out and planned activities, including attending the gym and football club, followed by meals out. The role requires no personal care.
Person Specification
Your enthusiasm, positive energy, and inclusive attitude are more important than your experience. UKCIL is looking for a flexible, outgoing worker who is friendly, chatty, and open to new experiences. Excellent communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills are essential. Relevant training is provided, and a driver is needed.
Hours
15 hours during term time and 25 hours during non-term time. These hours will mainly be evenings and weekends, requiring flexibility.
Compensation is £12.00 per hour, including holiday pay, paid through the PAYE scheme. This is not a cash position.
