Overview

West Coast Partnership Development (WCPD) is working with the Department for Transport (DfT) and HS2 Ltd to design and implement new high-speed services.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the WCPD CX & Commercial team as Avanti West Coast's

Purpose of the Job

Demand and revenue forecasting is essential for understanding the impacts of various initiatives across multiple products within the WCPD Accepted Programme:

  • Strategic Market Report: Understanding the market for future high-speed operations.
  • Fares Options Analysis: Developing the fare structure and regulation for high-speed services.
  • Train Service Specification: Developing core timetables for high-speed and conventional services.
  • Stations: Enhancing the customer experience proposition at stations.
  • SOBF: Providing the baseline forecast for high-speed and conventional services.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Modelling:

  • Developing and running demand and revenue models.
  • Understanding industry principles to model rail demand.
  • Challenging industry principles with bespoke techniques.
  • Producing tailored forecasting models.
  • Ensuring spreadsheet modelling adheres to best practices.
  • Documenting assumptions when compiling models.

Data Analysis:

  • Utilizing historical data to inform passenger demand behavior.
  • Analyzing rail industry data to predict future passenger demand patterns.

Economic Forecasts:

  • Staying informed on economic factors that may influence future rail demand.

The role is based in London (338 Euston Road), with the expectation of at least 3 days per week in the office and some travel required.

Salary is approximately £62,000 per annum based on skills and experience, accompanied by generous company benefits.
