Role Overview

You will be responsible for proofreading question paper materials across all subjects and qualification levels, ensuring that they are completely error-free and adhere to Cambridge University Press & Assessment's established style guidelines. This is an in-house position with the flexibility to work in a hybrid manner within the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Proofread question paper materials to eliminate grammar, spelling, typographical, layout, and formatting errors.
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of team processes and procedures.
  • Maintain and update Cambridge University Press & Assessment's style guide.
  • Respond to queries on style from internal customers.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A high level of accuracy and experience in proofreading (entry-level candidates will not be considered).
  • Familiarity with large and complex style guides and detailed checklists.
  • Experience with exam board materials is preferred.
  • A commitment to quality, with a focus on maintaining high standards throughout the proofreading process.

Qualifications

Successful applicants will demonstrate:

  • Excellent understanding of English grammar and plain English.
  • Grade A/B GCSE in English language and an education to degree level.
  • Proofreading training through recognized qualifications or on-the-job training.
  • A meticulous approach to work, maintaining accuracy even with repetitive tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
