Overview

Fair Access is seeking a passionate Education Programme Tutor to join Kent County Council's team in Maidstone, providing one-to-one tuition to children and young people (CYP) across Kent. This is a full-time role (37 hours per week), term-time only, designed for those who excel in delivering tailored educational support.

About the Position

The Education Programme aims to assist CYP who are without a school place due to exclusions or who have an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan awaiting placement. The role includes planning and executing personalized academic activities that may involve:

  • One-on-one face-to-face sessions
  • Online live sessions via Microsoft Teams
  • A blended approach combining both methods

This position is not remote, although some non-teaching tasks may be conducted from home or a local KCC building.

Responsibilities

As an Education Programme Tutor, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing child-centered academic activities to improve educational outcomes.
  • Supporting children with social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties.
  • Engaging with a diverse cohort of learners and adapting to their unique needs.
  • Maintaining clear and effective communication with students and their guardians.
  • Participating in continuous professional development (CPD) activities.
