Role Responsibilities:
As a foster carer, you will provide a nurturing environment for children who cannot live with their own families. Your role will involve:
- Caring for children and young people as part of your family.
- Working collaboratively with a team of professionals to support the child.
- Providing transportation for school and attending required meetings and training sessions.
Essential Requirements:
- A spare bedroom suitable for a child.
- Time and commitment to care for a child.
- A genuine interest in the well-being of young people.
- The ability to show love and care, especially to those who may struggle to accept it.
- Teamwork skills to collaborate with professionals.
- Good spoken English and basic IT skills.
- Applicants must be at least 21 years old and have British Citizenship, Indefinite Leave to Remain, or EU Settled Status.
Desirable Skills:
- Access to a computer or tablet.
- Good written English skills.
- The ability to drive or willingness to learn.
Experience:
No prior experience is necessary as full training is provided. However, any experience in parenting, childminding, or working with children or vulnerable adults is beneficial.
Remuneration:
- Foster carers receive a weekly allowance based on the child's needs, ranging from £420 to £630.
- Additional grants may be available for specific situations.
