About the Role:
City of Bristol College is seeking a qualified and experienced Forklift Instructor to join City of Bristol College's training team. As a Forklift Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality forklift training and assessment to learners in accordance with industry standards and health & safety regulations.
If you don’t have an Instructor qualification but wish to become qualified, City of Bristol College will support you through the AITT accredited instructor course (subject to terms and conditions) if you have a current B1 counterbalance certificate (within the last three years) and a minimum of one year’s operating experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct classroom and practical forklift training sessions for learners.
- Provide instruction on the safe operation of various types of forklifts (Counterbalance, Reach Truck, etc.).
- Assess candidates' skills and knowledge in line with industry regulations.
- Maintain accurate training records and issue certificates upon successful course completion.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety guidelines.
- Keep up to date with changes in legislation and industry best practices.
- Support continuous improvement by providing feedback and recommendations to improve the training program.
Requirements:
- Valid RTITB/ITSSAR/AITT instructor certification.
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating forklifts.
- Previous experience delivering forklift training or similar instruction.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of current health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience delivering training for B1 Counterbalance Forklifts.
- Experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- First Aid certification (desirable but not essential).
