What you’ll be doing

  • Manage a medium to large in-store team, assigning tasks and planning breaks.

  • Be a visible leader on the shop floor, driving training and creating a welcoming team environment.

What success looks like

  • Support the Lead Food Manager to deliver improved customer and retail outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with another Food Manager, sharing ideas and improving processes.
  • Provide honest feedback to your team regularly.
  • Help your team empathize with customers and take pride in service delivery.
  • Make decisions quickly and confidently.

About you

You’re probably already managing or supervising people in a similarly fast-paced setting. You’ll need to share Sainsbury’s love of technology, embracing digital tools for stock management and rotas.
