An opportunity has arisen as a Finance Officer situated within the Orkney Health and Care Finance Service. The post holder will support the Chief Finance Officer in performing the duties of the revenue accounting function. Responsibilities include:
- Providing high-quality financial advice to Council Services
- Ensuring adherence to sound financial and accounting practices
- Liaising with staff across various disciplines within the Council and external agencies, including external audit
- Producing written work to a high standard
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Experience with computer-based financial systems
- A proven track record of achievement in a relevant field
Educational qualifications include an SCQF 5/6 (such as SVQ2, National 5, Standard Grades, O Grade, Intermediate 2, SVQ3, Higher, National Certificate, Foundation Apprenticeship) in a relevant subject, or at least 2 years of previous relevant experience. This post requires Basic Disclosure Scotland Clearance.
Salary and Benefits: The position offers a salary of £30,371 - £32,488 per year, equating to £16.64 - £17.80 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance).
Shift Patterns: Full-time position, 35 hours per week.
