Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking experienced, passionate, and motivated individuals to be part of Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council's new Family Time Service as Family Time Workers. This role requires flexible working hours to meet the needs of the service, including some evenings until 8 PM and occasional Saturdays.
About the Team
Solihull’s Family Time service is a new, bespoke team working with children and families across the borough. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team of experienced professionals operating within the family time centre and the community. The contact centre will operate from 9:30 AM – 8:00 PM, requiring a flexible approach to working hours.
About the Role
As a Family Time Worker, you will provide a Family Time service under the management of the Team Leader and Coordinator, supervising and assessing dedicated Family Time for children and young people in the care of the Local Authority. Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising Family Time in line with the child’s plan and recording observations on the child's electronic file.
- Ensuring Family Time is delivered in accordance with care plans, prioritizing the child's safety and welfare.
- Transporting children and occasionally adults to and from family time, ensuring all parties are informed of arrangements.
Requirements
To be considered for this post, you will need to demonstrate:
- A relevant Level 2 qualification in Children and Young People, or equivalent experience.
- Experience working on a 1-1 basis with children, young people, or families in social care, educational, or voluntary settings.
- An understanding of the complex needs and vulnerabilities of children and young people.
- Experience with Case Management Systems and Microsoft Office Packages.
