An exciting opportunity has arisen for a General Catering Assistant to work within the Catering Team at the Balfour. This role involves assisting in all aspects of food preparation, restaurant operation, and customer service.

Working Hours

These posts typically work the hours of 11:30/12:00 – 19:00, averaging 26 hours per week across a two-week rolling rota:

• Week 1: 4 days of 12:00 – 19:00 (26 hours)
• Week 2: 2 days of 12:00 – 19:00 and 1 day of 11:30 – 19:00 (20 hours)

Pay

The Catering Service provides enhanced rates for working on weekends and holidays:

• Saturdays: £19.22 – £20.80 per hour
• Sundays and Public Holidays: £24.84 – £26.90 per hour

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will provide high-quality kitchen support under the direction of the Supervisor Chef/Retail & Restaurant Supervisor and Catering Team Lead, ensuring efficient meal service for patients and staff.

Training

If there are applicants without an elementary food hygiene certificate, training will be provided by NHS Orkney.
