The role of Ground Operations Agent at Heathrow Airport offers a lively and dynamic environment where every day is different. You will be pivotal in ensuring a flawless journey for British Airways's customers. Your shifts will vary between early and late start times, typically 8.5 hours in length, with shifts starting as early as 04:00 am and finishing as late as 00:30 am. Flexibility to work outdoors in all weather conditions is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare aircraft for arrival and departure.
- Load and unload customer baggage, cargo, and approved items onto the aircraft, lifting items up to 32kg.
- Deliver customer baggage to designated collection/drop-off points.
- Undertake airside logistics for safe and timely aircraft operations.
- Conduct safety checks and report any issues.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures with a focus on Safety and Flight Punctuality.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and maintain a safe baggage operation.
Requirements:
- A Full manual UK driving licence, with at least 12 months of driving experience and no more than 3 points.
- Unrestricted right to live and work in the UK.
- Ability to acquire and retain an airside ID.
Experience and Skills:
- Physical fitness to handle manual tasks, including lifting items up to 32kg throughout the day.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Resilience to handle outdoor shift work in varying weather conditions.
