The role of a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) at Asplands Medical Centre involves various responsibilities aimed at supporting patient care and enhancing the quality of healthcare services provided. Here are the key details:

Key Responsibilities:

• Phlebotomy and ECG recording
• Perform routine and opportunistic BP checks, height, weight, BMI, and urinalysis
• Undertake NHS Healthchecks
• Basic wound management, including dressings and removal of stitches and clips
• Provide adult vaccinations, including influenza, COVID, shingles, and pneumococcal
• Support practice nurses in providing services for patients with long-term conditions such as diabetes and mental health
• Assist with health promotion programmes and group consultations
• Stock ordering and management
• Home visits to patients as required

Additional Duties for Experienced HCAs:

• Doppler assessment
• Chronic wound management, including leg ulcers
• INR Star monitoring
• Spirometry
