About The Service

Cardiff Council Adult Social Services are seeking a Higher Clerical Assistant to support the Mental Health for Older People team. This multidisciplinary service provides essential support to service users over 64 with mental health conditions.

About the Job

The successful applicant will:

  • Work independently and answer phone calls from service users, family members, care providers, and other agencies.
  • Provide administrative support to the team, covering duties such as:
    • Overseeing the team mailbox.
    • Maintaining E Files, SAP orders, and payment of invoices.
    • Minute taking and database management.
    • Updating and maintaining registers.
    • Providing general administrative support to social workers and managers.

What Cardiff Council is Looking For From You

The ideal candidate will be flexible, proactive, and computer literate, particularly with Microsoft Office applications. As Social Services is a dynamic environment, the ability to learn and adapt quickly is essential. Candidates should be open to supporting other social work teams within Cardiff and have a positive outlook.

Knowledge of additional languages, especially Welsh and Community Languages, is advantageous.
