Hospitality Manager / Mess Manager

Sodexo Ltd support individuals, the community, and the environment on base, working with military leaders to enhance the physical and mental wellbeing of personnel across all military services.

Based at Portsmouth Naval base in Hampshire, Sodexo Ltd is now seeking an organised and conscientious Hospitality Manager to oversee the operational running of the Senior ranks Mess. This facility serves as a social hub and dining area, supporting hospitality for large functions held in Sodexo Ltd's sports bar.

The Mess is more than just an eatery for Sodexo Ltd's forces; it’s a home. With this in mind, you will put people and customer service at the heart of everything you do.

You will have direct management responsibility for a team encompassing all the catering, front of house, and accommodation staff within the Mess. The operation is varied and busy, preparing, cooking, and serving up to 100 meals per sitting per day.

This role will predominantly be Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Sodexo Ltd's catering includes 6 pre-booked events per year and is also available for hire, hosting up to 200 guests, with the expectation of working some evenings and weekends to support the smooth and efficient running of these events.

You will have high standards and the proven experience to lead by example, conducting yourself with integrity at all times in line with the expectations of the Military Personnel based on site.

Required qualifications include proven experience in the hospitality sector, some knowledge of the military, resilience, effective time management, good communication and customer service skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
