Overview

Brighton College is seeking to appoint a Head of Psychology to start in August 2025.

The Department

The department consists of three members of staff, teaching A-level Psychology to approximately 100 pupils. The classes average fifteen students across years 12 and 13, following the AQA syllabus. In recent years, the department has achieved impressive results, including a 98% A*-B pass rate in A-Level last summer. Many pupils pursue Psychology and related degrees at prestigious universities.

The department currently operates from a dedicated classroom equipped with full interactive C-touch facilities, and a second classroom is anticipated due to increased pupil interest.

Pupils engage in an annual reading trip at the end of year 12, conducting their own research, with recent visits to the psychology department of Exeter University and the Bethlem Museum of the Mind in London.
