Salary: £18,197 - £19,134 per year (£45,492 - £47,836 FTE)
Contract: Fixed Term Contract – maternity leave cover (7 months, ending May 2025)
Hours: Part Time, 16 hours per week / 2 days per week
Base: Adarna House & Cygnet Hospital Wyke (Adarna Ward), Bradford

About Adarna Ward: Adarna Ward is Cygnet's 15-bed rehabilitation service at Cygnet Hospital Wyke for men with mental illness and a secondary diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. Cygnet's aim is to support service users to live as independently as possible.
Responsibilities: As a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will have the unique opportunity to deliver an evidence-based SLT service to meet the needs of the complex client group within an in-patient setting. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing, advising, and intervening to promote functional communication systems and optimal independence.
- Training others and promoting good practice.
- Managing eating, drinking, and swallowing difficulties.
You will be accountable to the Director of Speech and Language Therapy (Healthcare) and the onsite service manager, and you will supervise an SLT (Band 5 equivalent) providing input to Adarna Ward.

Requirements:
- A registered Speech and Language Therapist with the HCPC.
- Experience in adult mental health and/or ASD.
- Dysphagia qualification is desirable.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Passionate about student education.
