As an Investment Advisor (IA), you will partner with Relationship Managers in Barclays International Banking (BIB) to provide specialized investment guidance to affluent clients. You will build and nurture internal and external relationships to develop a portfolio of investment and discretionary clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and maintain knowledge of all applicable regulatory requirements and compliance policies.
- Provide expert insights on specific financial products and services, including features, benefits, limitations, and risks.
- Understand market trends, regulatory requirements, and potential risks, analyzing data from sales figures and customer feedback to enhance product offerings.
- Respond to customer inquiries, attend client meetings, and provide suitable product solutions based on complex financial circumstances.
- Present product advantages to potential customers, building trust and encouraging adoption.
- Assist in developing marketing materials, such as client presentations and pitch materials.
- Participate in training sessions to share product knowledge with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Engage in networking opportunities to showcase products and generate interest.
Vice President Expectations:
- Advise key stakeholders on functional and cross-functional areas of impact.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Industry qualifications to FCA Level 6 and/or CFA, with potential for further qualifications as needed.
- A strong understanding of various asset classes, including equities, bonds, alternatives, and derivatives.
- Knowledge of macroeconomics, portfolio construction, and a range of implementation solutions.
- Self-motivated with the ability to plan and execute client acquisition strategies.
- Relevant experience in the affluent investment industry.
- Excellent presentation skills to effectively showcase investment propositions.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues worldwide for holistic client service.
