Job Profile:
Westmorland & Furness Council is looking for an experienced Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join Westmorland & Furness Council's Children's Services. This role is crucial in safeguarding children and improving outcomes for Westmorland and Furness' most vulnerable populations.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct reviews for children in care and child protection conferences.
- Chair meetings and lead strategy sessions to ensure children's needs are met.
- Scrutinize Local Authority performance to maintain quality assurance.
- Engage with children to record their views and ensure their wishes are heard.
Who Westmorland & Furness Council is Looking For:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Expert knowledge of child protection procedures and care planning legislation.
- Ability to chair challenging meetings and influence stakeholders.
- A Social Work Qualification and registration with Social Work England.
- Experience at a Team Manager or Advanced Practitioner level.
- Knowledge of the Signs of Safety framework is an advantage.
