Location
This role provides outreach services across Surrey. Halow Project is looking for Support Workers to work in areas such as Guildford, Farnham, Godalming, Egham, Camberley, Ash Vale and the wider Surrey area.
Hours
Variable Hours contract.
Training
Fully paid training is given including the industry recognised Care Certificate, and further development opportunities are available including Positive Behaviour Support and opportunities to study for accredited National Vocational Qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing high-quality support to Halow Project's young adults and helping to plan their day-to-day lives whilst working to achieve their goals and promote their independence, whether this be supporting with independent travel training, learning to cook or finding work experience.
- Encouraging and supporting with tasks and goals they have set for themselves.
- Recording session data and outcomes.
Job Requirements
- Resilience and adaptability are key as this role involves lone working on a 1:1 basis.
- Some personal care and administration of medicine may be required depending on who you are supporting (Full training provided).
- UK Driving Licence.
- Aged 18 and above.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Willing to undertake a DBS Check. The initial cost of the DBS application will be paid for by Halow.
Additional Information
Please note, it is a criminal offence for people who are barred from working in Regulated Activity (Under the Safeguarding and Vulnerable Groups Act 2006) to apply for roles that require them to work unsupervised with that particular group (i.e. adults at risk, children or both).
Professional or personal experience of care work is desirable, but Halow Project also pride ourselves on a values-based approach and the main skill Halow Project is looking for is an ambition to help others.
