What is Tax?

Tax impacts KPMG's lives and society in more ways than you’d ever imagine. KPMG's Tax experts are doing more than just advising individuals and businesses; they’re making a meaningful difference to society by helping to solve some of the biggest challenges facing KPMG's country.

The scale and breadth of tax implications are wide-reaching, with new regulations making this landscape increasingly complex. KPMG's tax services span:

  • Company-focused areas such as International Tax, Deal Advisory Tax, Transfer Pricing, and Indirect Tax
  • People-focused services, including Private Client Advice, Employment Taxes, and Global Mobility Services

KPMG’re also helping to digitise the tax system—some of the world’s biggest tech companies choose KPMG’s Tax services because of KPMG's tech solutions.

KPMG Tax Graduate Programmes

Joining KPMG as a graduate, you’ll have a variety of client contact from day one, the support to grow as part of a structured development programme, and the chance to do work that really matters.

KPMG's tax specialists work alongside clients to help them understand the intricacies of tax across the globe—from online food businesses to banks and high-net-worth individuals. They support clients in complying with relevant regulations so they can operate responsibly, sustainably, and ethically.

With such a wide-ranging remit, Tax offers the opportunity to be involved in a variety of challenging and high-profile projects. You’ll tackle challenges at the heart of client organisations and develop a broad understanding of business while building valuable technical skills and professional qualifications.

Training and Benefits

Over the three-year programme, you’ll combine client delivery and study towards a professional qualification—the ACA or CA equivalent in Scotland.

KPMG offer a competitive salary and great benefits, including:

  • 25 days’ holiday
  • Study leave
  • A day off on your birthday
  • Up to six days off for volunteering initiatives each year

KPMG's firm’s hybrid working model balances the flexibility of working from home with the importance of collaborating and learning in KPMG's offices or at client sites. KPMG trust KPMG's people to be where they need to be, with KPMG's colleagues working together in person as often as needed. You’ll be empowered by the technology that supports KPMG to work flexibly across KPMG's collaborative office spaces.

Seeing the Whole Picture

As part of the Tax team, you will be building friendships and shared experiences, innovating, and learning together. KPMG is a place where you can be yourself and give your best—whoever you are and whatever your degree background. KPMG look at more than just your academic results and will also consider your strengths, values, and motivations.
