About the role:
As Lead Driver Team Manager, your role is key to guiding Northern Train Drivers at the depot to success. You’ll lead and motivate Train Drivers, ensuring compliance with the highest standards, while delivering exceptional customer service.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate, and ensure compliance with Group Standards and customer service excellence.
- Conduct safety and security checks as per Northern's frequencies.
- Implement assessments for drivers and instructors, ensuring adherence to standards.
- Liaise regularly with external bodies and operators.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and COSHH regulations.
- Monitor and investigate incidents, implementing improvements for safety.
- Manage constituency meetings, welfare, and grievance arrangements.
About you:
You’ll be a highly motivated person with excellent interpersonal skills and a solid understanding of customer service delivery principles. Your organisational skills are exemplary, showcasing your ability to forward plan and maintain performance under pressure.
Northern Rail’re also looking for:
- Management qualification desirable (e.g., NVQ Level 4).
- 4 years train driving experience (essential).
- Competent in all applicable rules and regulations.
- Holder of a full and current road driving licence.
- Computer Literate: Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Northern Trains, trading as Northern, is a publicly owned train operating company in England. It is owned by DfT OLR Holdings for the Department for Transport, after the previous operator Arriva Rail North had its franchise terminated at the end of February 2020.
