Thomas Gainsborough School is seeking a passionate and qualified Leader of Geography to join Unity Schools Partnership's successful team. Job Overview

Start Date: January 2025, or earlier if available.

Responsible to: Assistant Headteacher.

Salary Structure

Salary range from MPR4 (£38,034 p/a) to UPR3 (£49,084 p/a) with an additional TLR2 (£5,200 p/a).

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Geography department in delivering high-quality education.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
  • Ensure excellent student outcomes and support extracurricular activities.
  • Oversee fieldwork opportunities across all key stages.

Educational Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A relevant degree in Geography or related subject.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching Key Stage 5 Geography.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Experience in developing curriculum and assessing student performance.
