Overview

Southend Medical Centre is looking for a qualified locum practice nurse with experience in primary care for short or long term cover. Shift pattern negotiable for right candidate. Ideally looking for 3 days Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

Job Summary

To work as a registered practice nurse supporting the organisation and facilitate clinical care in a holistic and proactive manner to patients registered at the practice.
To maintain a high professional standard of nursing care in adherence to all practice protocols and policies, as well as to provide nursing assistance to the GPs and other members of the primary healthcare team.
It is essential that the practice nurse works within their own level of competency and expand their role in accordance with practice requirements and their own scope of practice.

About the Candidate

It is ESSENTIAL that you have the following skills and qualifications:

Foundation degree as a Registered Nurse and NMC Registration
Experience of working in a primary healthcare setting
Competence in cervical screening, childhood immunisations, vaccines, staple and suture removal, wound care and experience in SystmOne.

It would be DESIRABLE that you have Diabetes, Asthma, COPD, Stop Smoking, Contraception and Complex Wound Care.
