Overview

Job Purpose: To lead the development and implementation of the Polaris Education therapeutic model, focusing on enhancing the connection, communication, and relationship skills of children and young people to support their learning and growth. This role involves training staff and collaborating with practitioners to ensure a child-centered, trauma-informed approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Cultural Change: Lead the integration of the COSMMIC therapeutic model, fostering a culture of practice around open communication. Champion child-centered practices across all schools within the group.
  • Training and Development: Deliver comprehensive training programs on communication models and trauma-informed practices. Support teaching assistants in emotional regulation and social communication interventions.
  • Collaboration and Support: Work with internal and external practitioners to provide holistic student support. Conduct sensory audits to create conducive learning environments. Utilize screening tools for identifying needs and initiating referrals. Formulate and update social communication profiles for students.
  • Therapeutic Practice: Apply evidence-based practices around emotional regulation and trauma. Maintain a positive attitude towards shared therapeutic planning and outcomes tracking.
  • Student and Stakeholder Engagement: Capture children's voices and seek feedback to tailor support. Communicate effectively across various domains. Engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Compliance and Record-Keeping: Ensure practices are consistent with GDPR and professional standards. Plan assessment and evaluation independently.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • HCPC and RCSLT registration.
  • Experience with children and young people with SEND needs.
  • Experience in delivering training.
