Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking a Licensing Technical Assistant to join Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council's busy Licensing Team in Safer Communities (Regulation and Enforcement). In this role, you will:
- Work across Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council's diverse borough to help develop and deliver first-class services in licensing.
- Handle various licensing regimes, including taxis, the Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005, animal licensing, and street trading.
- Provide advice and guidance to customers, supporting them through the licensing process.
- Assist in the implementation and development of a new ICT system aimed at enhancing customer self-service.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Processing applications and gathering information while adhering to regulatory frameworks.
- Responding effectively to customers with varying needs.
- Balancing competing demands and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- 4 GCSEs at grades A-C (4-9) including Maths and English, or equivalent qualifications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of legislation related to regulatory services.
- A good understanding of ICT systems.
