Job Summary

Join Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust's team as a Mental Health Nurse working in Adult Mental Health with the New Forest CMHT (East) team based at Anchor House, Totton. This role involves providing high-quality holistic care to individuals with severe and enduring mental illness.

Main Responsibilities

  • Care-coordinate a caseload of service users with complex mental health problems.
  • Assess and formulate individual intervention plans for adults with mental health issues.
  • Supervise a small team of practitioners within the Community Treatment Team.
  • Conduct ongoing assessment, treatment, and evaluation for service users.
  • Work flexible hours, including weekends and bank holidays as part of a staff rota.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse
  • Computer skills
  • Significant post-qualifying experience
  • Mentorship course
  • Clinical supervision training
  • Current driving licence and use of a vehicle

Desirable Qualifications

  • Evidence of formal post-registration learning
  • Training in psychological interventions
  • Leadership training or qualification
  • Completion of Preceptorship

Experience

Essential Experience

  • Previous employment within a Community Mental Health Team or equivalent service.
  • Knowledge of risk assessments and outcome measures.
  • Experience in care coordination and clinical case management.
  • Providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
  • Highly developed communication skills.

Desirable Experience

  • Facilitating group or project work.
  • Experience in education of nurses and multi-professional groups.
  • Using psychological interventions.
