An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 - Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician (1 year fixed term from January 2025) who is forward-thinking, enthusiastic, and motivated, to join Croydon Health Services's established experienced and dedicated ward-based and dispensary team.

Responsibilities

  • Work in conjunction with clinical pharmacists and other medicines management technicians to deliver ward-based pharmacy services within a delegated area of responsibility.
  • Support the development and progress of clinical pharmacy services.
  • Contribute to the patient safety agenda and clinical governance through medicines management.
  • Support the cost-effective and efficient medicines management services to wards and patients.
  • Act as a key link between wards and the pharmacy department, integrating within the trust's multi-disciplinary team.
  • Label, dispense, and accuracy check clinically screened prescriptions for both inpatients and for patients being discharged.
  • Participate in the general running of the department undertaking the full range of duties of a pharmacy technician.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Level 3 BTEC / NVQ Pharmacy Services certificate or equivalent.
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Ideally, hold an Accredited Checking Qualification (ACPT) or be willing to work towards it.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Ability to work under pressure with a patient-centred attitude.
