This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled/semi-skilled Machine Operator to work for a global leader in the manufacture of tags, labels, wristbands, and badges. You will be an important part of a small high-performing team to help achieve daily production requirements in terms of quality and quantity, while optimising efficiency.
Job Overview
The Machine Operator position involves working with printing machinery, manual lifting, and long periods of standing while performing duties. The successful candidate will have a good work ethic, a willingness to learn, and attention to detail to ensure consistent quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate production equipment
- Monitor the production process and carry out quality checks
- Carry out cleaning and basic maintenance of work areas and machines
- Report equipment faults to Supervisor
- Enter relevant data onto Shuttleworth Dataflow to record product produced, quantities, material used, and time taken
- Identify and pursue opportunities for improvement
- Provide support to the Production Manager
Hours and Shifts
Standard working hours are 37.5 hours per week:
- Monday-Wednesday: 16:00-02:00
- Thursday: 15:30-01:00
During training, hours will be:
- Monday-Wednesday: 06:30-16:30
- Thursday: 06:30-16:00
Salary and Benefits
Salary: £28,787.50 including shift premium. Additional benefits include:

Training
You will be required to complete a training period of 1-3 months, depending on your skills and experience, during which the 17.5% shift premium will not apply as training is conducted on a day shift.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in a skilled/semi-skilled printing/machine operator role
- Able to read and follow written and verbal instructions
- A good eye for detail
- Basic computer skills
- Willingness to take responsibility for ensuring quality control and adherence to company procedures
- Able to work as part of a team and independently when necessary
- Exhibit a safety-first attitude
- Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure/cost of quality
- Desire to develop skills and knowledge to support business needs
