Net Liver Nurse Specialist

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Established Hepatology Specialist Nurse team at NUH. This new post within the team will focus on being a key resource for patients with Neuroendocrine tumors, providing support, specialist care, and education during hospital admissions and following discharge.

The post holder will work closely with the medical team caring for Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trusts's patients, which includes ordering investigations and maintaining close contact with patients. This exciting role will bring great opportunities to enhance the holistic experience for this patient group, participating in advanced care planning within the Multi-Disciplinary team meetings.

Main Duties of the Job

• Collaborate with various hospital and community teams, attending Multi-disciplinary Team meetings.
• Manage a group of patients alongside the existing nurse specialist.
• Undertake nurse-led clinics and injection clinics for patients on treatment.
• Liaise with other centres regarding NET patients.

Essential

• Ability to assess, plan, prioritise, and deliver own workload.
• Effective communication in distressing circumstances.
• Able to present and receive complex information within a multi-professional team.
• Assertiveness skills to deal with conflict.

Experience

Essential

• Hepatology experience within the last 5 years.
• Evidence of dealing with distressed patients and their families.
• Good time management and organisation.
• Ability to manage a caseload of patients.
• Experience in a multi-disciplinary meeting setting.

Training and Qualifications

Essential

• Current level one NMC registration.
• First level degree or willingness to undertake degree study.
