Operative - Household Waste Recycling Centre

Overview

Pay: £12.15 per hour, plus additional for Sundays and Bank Holidays.

Contract: Permanent, approximately 40 hours per week.

Location: Northallerton Household Waste Recycling Centre, Yafforth Road, DL7 0LG.

Role Overview:

Yorwaste is seeking an Operative to join North Yorkshire Council's team in managing the Northallerton Household Waste Recycling Centre. You will be working on-site in an outdoor environment to provide essential services to the local community. North Yorkshire Council's site operates six days a week (closed on Wednesdays).

Responsibilities:

• Help the public use the site safely, adhering to all Health and Safety guidance.
• Provide friendly, informative, and professional customer service.
• Promote high standards of health and safety to protect yourself, your team, and the public.
• Safely operate equipment and machinery, reporting any faults and issues.
• Utilize North Yorkshire Council's IT system to create reports and record general site details.

Requirements:

• Reliable personal transportation to the site, which is not accessible by public transport.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Good level of written communication to complete forms and reports accurately.

Work Schedule:

This is a permanent role working 5 days out of 7. Flexibility in your availability within this schedule is essential, including covering holidays and sickness.
