Personal Assistant

Overview

Summary:

A Personal Assistant is required for a 16-year-old young man living in the Bodmin area. He seeks someone to build a positive relationship and provide one-on-one support to foster his independence and help him access inclusive sports and social clubs. The young man enjoys:

• Cinema and theatre
• Live music and tribute bands
• Gaming

The role will enable him to engage in activities within his local community. The rate of pay is £12 per hour, with flexible availability of up to 7 hours per week. Some weekend and school holiday availability will be required.

Requirements:

• Car driver preferred
• Knowledge or personal experience of working with young people with special educational needs is essential

The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family and will not be employed by Cornwall Council. Cornwall Council Together for Families is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All offers of employment will be subject to the successful candidate undertaking an enhanced DBS check, with the administrative process handled by Cornwall Council.
