PTU Driver

Overview

To legally and safely undertake driving duties associated with category D1 driving licence restrictions (Maximum passenger carriage 16 pax), providing essential education, Community, Demand Response, and Fixed route services including non-emergency hospital patient transfers throughout Moray.

Responsibilities

• Transport school pupils safely to and from school, maintaining good discipline and ensuring safety and comfort.
• Transport disabled, elderly, and vulnerable adults to community centers and other services, providing necessary assistance.
• Ensure the safe stowage and securing of wheelchairs and other passenger items.
• Drive various vehicle types safely and report incidents as per service policy.
• Conduct routine checks on vehicles and complete necessary paperwork.
• Attend training as required and operate IT platforms related to vehicle services.

Requirements

• Proven driving experience and ability to perform vehicle safety checks.
• Driving licence with category D1 entitlement.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent timekeeping and communication skills.
• Flexible and adaptable to service demands.
• Caring, friendly, and courteous manner.

Salary and Benefits

Rate per hour: £13.26

Starting Salary: £25,512.24 pro rata

20 hours per week (School Term Time Only)
