Hours of Work

37 hours per week. 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Mon to Thurs and 8:00 am to 1:00 pm Friday.

Job Summary

An engineering role within the Operations team, this position is responsible for producing all relevant documentation, routings, procedures, programs, tooling, and equipment to enable the successful manufacture and testing of various valves for the Oil & Gas, Nuclear, and Marine sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Use CAM software to produce programs for a variety of multi-axis CNC machines, including 5-axis turn-mill, sliding head turn-mill, and 5-axis milling.
  • Create set-up sheets for CNC machines to include all information about cutting tools, fixtures, and inspection equipment.
  • Support with the prove out of new programs across CNC machines ensuring that programs and set-up sheets are correct before handing the machine over to production.
  • Develop solutions for manufacturing components using standardized tooling and production methods.
  • Design new cutting tools and work-holding solutions as necessary.
  • Identify defective products and processes requiring a cross-functional team review.
  • Maintain and apply lean principles to the machining environment.

Requirements

  • Qualified to HNC level or working towards a similar Mechanical or Production Engineering qualification.
  • Sound understanding of modern manufacturing methods.
  • Demonstrable experience in Continuous Improvement tools and techniques.
  • Able to design jigs and fixtures using CAD (preferably 3D).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Able to produce CNC programs using CAM software.
