Would you like to be involved in an exciting programme of economic development opportunities that are being developed in the Borough? This is an exciting time for Pendle. Over £35m of growth and regeneration funding is being delivered in Pendle Borough Council's towns, including support for business, skills, and Pendle Borough Council's town centres.
Role Overview
You will be involved in supporting programmes and initiatives funded by these programmes, using your skills to plan and implement other initiatives which support Pendle Borough Council's people, place, and enterprises. You will take a lead on delivering the Economic Growth action plan and seek out opportunities to leverage in other funds and inward investment to facilitate greater economic activity in the Borough.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team to deliver economic development initiatives.
- Deliver the Economic Growth action plan.
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities.
- Engage with stakeholders to promote economic activity.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline and have at least three years’ experience of successful work in economic development, including project delivery.
Working Conditions

This role is likely to be on a Flexible Contract as defined by Pendle Borough Council's Agile working policy. The minimum frequency for in-office attendance will be twice to three times per week, however, it could be more frequent based on the demands of the service.
Location
Pendle Borough Council expect candidates to reside within a commutable distance from Number One Market Street in Nelson, Lancashire.
